Award. On May 20th, Russ Phillips, one of INSIGHT's principals, accepted the 2009 Boise Building Excellence Award for the Best Accessibility Upgrade from the City of Boise at the May meeting of the Boise Chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). INSIGHT received this award for renovations completed to the south side of the historic St. John's Cathedral in Boise, ID.

One of the centennial site improvement projects for St. John's Cathedral focused on improving accessibility to the lower level of the Cathedral and eliminating poor drainage in the area. ADA ramps were designed to accommodate the movement of a casket into and out of the day chapel for small funerals, and soil and plant materials were pulled away from the building's exterior walls and replaced with arid plant materials to reduce water usage. Much of the existing sandstone, which was originally quarried from the local Table Rock area by prisoners housed at the Old Penitentiary, was reused in the design.
